The Edwards Brothers at Brown Loaf Farms

Alison Harman has contacted
the website with the following information about the three Edwards
brothers who lived at Upper Bevendean.
Just a message to say thank you for putting together a lovely site.
I came across it while researching my family tree.
Arthur, George and David Edwards of Brown Loaf Farm were my cousins 3x removed.
George's middle name was Onesimus, a name that re-occurs several times in the Suffolk Edwards family.
My Great Great grandfather, Onesimus Edwards, was the brother of Japhet Edwards, father of the 3 brothers.
The photos and memories from Frank Edwards were a joy.
More information on the three brothers
Arthur Edwards was baptised on 23 Feb 1868 at Holy Trinity, Bungay, Suffolk.
George Onesimus Edwards was baptised on 15 Jan 1871 according to the Suffolk County Bishops Transcript.
David Edward Edwards was baptised on 10 Jan 1873 according to the Suffolk County Bishops Transcript.
The parents of all three brothers are recorded as Japheth and Ellen Edwards.
In 1881 the family with the exception of George were living at Lower Olland Street, Bungay in Suffolk.
By 1891 the father Japhet, his wife and two of the sons, Arthur and David were living at 3 Devonshire Street, Brighton, Sussex.
By 1901 the three brothers were living at Brown Loaf Farms at Upper Bevendean and are listed as Poultry Farmers.
The 1911 census records Arthur Edwards as living at 1 Brown Loaf Farm, David Edwards at (2) Brown Loaf Farm and George Edwards at 3 Brown Loaf Farm in Upper Bevendean.
In 1939 when the wartime registration was taken David Edwards (a widow) was keeping pigs and living at Brown Loaf Farm, George Edwards was married and listed as a smallholder living at 2 Brown Loaf Farm.
Eliza Edwards the widow of Arthur was living at 3 Brown Loaf Farm with her son also called Arthur whose occupation was listed as a pig farmer.
