St Andrews Church, Moulsecoomb

Church Buildings
1921
The Diocese
of Chichester purchased
the site for a Church at the junction of Colbourne Avenue and Hillside.
The first building to be used was an ex-army hut measuring 70 feet by
20 feet.

Approval for the building of this hut was given on 2 August 1921 by Steyning East Rural District Council as a temporary building.
1922
The second temporary church came from Lewes where it was known as St Barnabas. Approval for this building was given on 1 August 1922
by Steyning East Rural District Council as a temporary building.

This church was dedicated on 18th November 1922, at which time the hut used as a church became the church hall.
