This Policy of Assurance Witnesseth, that Mr Frank John Allcorn of Lower Bevendean Farm, Brighton Sussex, Farmer hereinafter called the insured, having paid to the Phoenix Assurance Company, Ltd, of London, hereinafter called the Company, the sum of Three Pounds Eleven Shillings and Nine Pence for insuring against Loss or Damage by Fire, as hereinafter mentioned, the Property hereinafter described, in the several sums following, namely:

£500 on Agricultural Produce, not including Growing Crops, nor Wool, or Hops or Grain in Oasts or Kilns, or in say building communicating their with

£200 on Farming Stock, not being Agricultural Produce or Live Stock, and on any Implements and Utensils of Husbandry that are not worked by Steam, Gas, Oil or Electric Power

Memo. - The term "farming stock" is intended to cover Wool, Cider, Cheese, Manures, and other such Stock.

£240 on Horses, not exceeding £100 on any one animal

£400 on other livestock, not exceeding £40 on any one animal

£1340 all on his farm, called Lower Bevendean situated as aforesaid.

N.B - It is warranted that no fixed Machine work by Steam, Gas, Oil or Electric Power shall be used on the Farm aforesaid

Memo - this insurance will not extend to cover any agricultural produce within 100 yards of any Railway, Hop-pole Dipping Tank, or other hazardous risk.

Additional condition - If the sum insured on Agricultural Produce, either separately or in one amount with other property, shall at the break out of a fire be less than three-fourths of the value of all the property insured and that amount, then the Assured shall be considered as being his own Insurer for the difference between the sum insured and the full value of the property insured at the time of the fire, and shall bear a rateable share of the loss accordingly.

The company hereby agrees with the insured, (but subject to the conditions at the back here off, which are to be taken as part of this policy,) that if the property above described, or any part thereof, shall be destroyed or damaged by fire, at any time between 29 September 1908 and 29 September 1909, both inclusive, or at any time afterwards, so long as the insured or his representatives, being successors in interest, shall pay to the company, and it shall accept the sum required for the renewal of this policy, on or before 29 September in that in each succeeding year, the company will, out of its funds and assets, pay or make good all such loss or damage, to an amount not exceeding in respect of the several matters above specified the sunset opposite you to respectfully, and not exceeding in the hold the sum of £1340.
